PAGASA Says Shear Line and LPA’s Trough to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that a shear line and a low-pressure area will bring scattered rains over parts of the country.
On Saturday (November 4, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The trough of a low-pressure area and the shear line will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA reported that the shear line is forecasted to bring cloudy conditions with scattered rains, and thunderstorms over the northern section of Northern Luzon.
The shear line will bring cloudy weather with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes and Cagayan including the Babuyan Islands.
“Patuloy ang epekto ng shear line o yung pagsasalubong ng mainit at malamig na hangin sa ilang areas ng Northern Luzon kaya makakaranas pa rin tayo ng mga pag-ulan na dala ng shear line,” Weather Specialist Daniel James E. Villamil said.
A low-pressure area’s trough will bring similar weather conditions over Eastern Visayas and Caraga. Flash floods or landslides are possible in these areas due to moderate to at times heavy rains.
“Samantala, may binabantayan pa rin tayong cloud clusters o kumpol ng kaulapan sa silangang bahagi ng ating bansa inaasahan natin na possible itong maging low-pressure are sa mga susunod na araw,” he said.
The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country. Possible flash floods or landslides are expected during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.
“Patuloy tayong maging handa at alerto sa mga banta ng pagbaha at pagguho ng lupa sa mga nabanggit na lugar,” he added.
