PAGASA Says Shear Line and Localized Thunderstorms Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that two weather systems will bring rain over parts of the Philippines.

On Friday (November 3, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The shear line and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that shear line and localized thunderstorms will bring isolated to scattered rain showers in the country. The northeast monsoon has weakened and will not affect the archipelago.

“Humina ang amihan o northeast monsoon at hindi na ito nakaaapekto sa bansa,” weather specialist Aldczar Aurelio said.

The shear line will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Palawan including Kalayaan Islands, and Occidental Mindoro.

Metro Manila and the remaining parts of the country will experience similar weather conditions. Generally fair weather is expected in some areas except for chances of thunderstorms in the evening.

Aurelio reported that no weather disturbance is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility over the next few days.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Northern Luzon will be moderate to rough. The rest of the country will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to PAGASA.

No gale warning was raised in any parts of the country but local fisher folks were advised to take precautionary measures during sea ventures.
