Vic Sotto Expresses Sentiments About “Eat Bulaga” Name

TVJ now has a new home but Vic Sotto still has these sentiments.

VIC SOTTO – The issue between TVJ and TAPE is still far from being over and Vic Sotto has these sentiments amid the controversy.

The issue between TVJ and TAPE is beyond the control of the GMA network which is why they were hands-off from the start as the matter is more on being an internal issue. The network did not know the issue until it circulated online.

Moreover, the network’s block-time contract is with TAPE and not with the noontime show’s hosts.

To recall, TVJ agreed to disengage from TAPE the day they also announced it. During that day, TAPE forbade them from airing live episodes which pushed them to finally call it quits. They have found a new home and their new show will start airing this July.

And recently, as they finally signed a contract, the hosts reiterated that the battle for the EB trademark still continues. According to Vic Sotto, he firmly chooses Eat Bulaga as the name of their new show along with the “legit EB hosts” such as Jose Manalo, Wally Bayola, Allan K, Paolo Ballesteros, Ryan Agoncillo, Maine Mendoza, Ryzza Mae Dizon, and Carren Eistrup.

“Basta kahit ano mangyari, Eat Bulaga! pa rin,” he expressed. He then added his sentiments about the program which has become a part of his.

“You can just imagine, after 44 years, minahal mo… More than half of my life sa Eat Bulaga!. Pagka-absent ako sa Eat Bulaga! parang may kulang sa buhay ko. Tapos kukunin lang ng kung sinu-sino? Aba! Hindi puwede,” he added based on a report from PEP.

He’d insist on still using the name EB , however, they are still working legally on the copyright. They are confident that history and law will be their backups.

The comedy trio formally signed a contract with Manny V. Pangilinan’s MediaQuest Holdings Incorporated (MediaQuest) on Tuesday, June 20.
