Did 9gag.com Calls Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) a “Cult”

One of the world’s leading humor website 9gag.com posted a viral photo featuring a photo saying that “a cult in the Philippines has set a Guinness world record for the largest gathering of idiots.” The photo went viral immediately after it was posted online in the official Facebook page of 9gag, which boasts millions of followers.

Although the humor website did not specifically named the church involved, based upon the photo, members of Iglesia Ni Cristo were seen with their banners pouring their message for their campaign over the separation of the state and the church.

The gathering of INC members along EDSA caused heavy traffic in one of the country’s main thoroughfares. The photo which went viral online engaged thousands of people in the comment section of the Facebook page.
