Trillanes Says Duterte Supporters Have Become Like a Cult

Trillanes Claims DDS Are Hypnotized by the Duterte Family

TRILLANES – A fresh political war of words erupted after Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV accused Duterte supporters of blindly believing false information.

Former Senator Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV once again criticized supporters of the Duterte family, claiming that many of them continue to believe false information being spread within their political circle.

During a television interview, Trillanes aimed at loyal supporters of former President Rodrigo Duterte, commonly referred to as DDS, accusing them of acting like members of a cult because of their unwavering support despite repeated misinformation.

According to Trillanes, fake news and misleading narratives allegedly coming from the Duterte camp have become increasingly widespread. He claimed that supporters are repeatedly exposed to the same claims, even when these have already been disproven.

The former senator further alleged that members of the Duterte family themselves are responsible for spreading information that many of their supporters eventually accept as true.

He also questioned why supporters continue to believe such claims despite repeated instances of disappointment.

“Pero ito namang mga supporters nila, kahit na paulit-ulit silang pinaglololoko, parang mesmerized pa rin sila or hypnotized ang status nila,” he said.

Trillanes went on to liken the group to a cult, stating that their loyalty remains unchanged regardless of the circumstances.
