Trillanes Breaks Silence on Explosive Money Allegations Linking Him to Zaldy Co

Trillanes Threatens Legal Action Over Viral Money Claim from Zaldy Co Case

TRILLANES – A new controversy has erupted after claims surfaced during a Senate hearing regarding supposed money deliveries tied to Trillanes.

Former Senator Antonio Trillanes IV has firmly rejected renewed allegations linking him to supposed cash payments from former Congressman Zaldy Co., intended for the International Criminal Court, and stated that he is ready to pursue legal action against individuals who continue to spread the claim.

In a text message to The STAR, Trillanes dismissed statements raised during a Senate hearing on a flood control controversy, where he was accused of allegedly receiving a suitcase filled with cash from Co.

“Again, I categorically deny na tumanggap ako ng pera mula kay Zaldy Co para ibigay sa ICC or for any other purpose,” Trillanes said.

He also pointed out that the International Criminal Court had previously denied receiving any money from him or any other individual in relation to Philippine-related cases.

Trillanes warned he would pursue legal action against those who persist in spreading the accusation.

“Kapag nag salita sila ulit about it, kakasuhan ko ulit sila,” he said.

The denial followed testimony from 18 former Marines during a Senate hearing on Thursday, who alleged that Trillanes had received a suitcase of money from Co, who is reportedly a fugitive amid an ongoing investigation into a flood control scandal.

He emphasized that his position remains consistent and that he has never authorized or facilitated any transfer of money to the International Criminal Court in any capacity, whether directly or indirectly.

The former senator stressed that repeated allegations could damage reputations and public trust, which is why he is prepared to initiate legal remedies against individuals or groups who continue to circulate the accusation without proof.

He maintained that the claims surfaced in relation to a Senate inquiry into flood control irregularities, but he rejected any implication that he benefited financially or acted as a conduit for funds from Zaldy Co.

Trillanes reiterated his denial and urged the public to rely on verified facts, saying he will not hesitate to defend himself in court if necessary, as he continues to reject all allegations linking him to any alleged cash delivery connected to the ongoing controversy and investigation at all times moving forward without exception.
