Scissors, Lighters, & Vape Devices Confiscated by Lapaz National High School From Students
Several scissors, lighters, and vape devices were confiscated from students at the entrance of Lapaz National High School–Annex.
On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, Lapaz National High School–Annex in Barangay San Isidro carried out precautionary checks at its entrance. During the inspection, school personnel collected several items from students, including scissors, lighters, and vape devices.
School officials implemented the measure to prevent students from using these items that could be used improperly or may threaten the safety of both students and staff.

The move came as schools across the region increased their efforts to maintain a safe learning environment following the tragic shooting incident that recently occurred at San Jose National High School in Tacloban City.
The incident raised concerns among educators, parents, and local communities, prompting schools to review and strengthen their existing security protocols.
Students were reminded about school rules and the importance of cooperating with security measures designed to protect everyone on campus.

Meanwhile, similar efforts are also being carried out at Iloilo City National High School. School officials have been conducting spot inspections to ensure that deadly weapons and other prohibited items do not make their way into classrooms and school premises.
Members of a security volunteer group have been assigned to monitor areas surrounding the school. Their presence aims to help maintain order and prevent incidents that may involve students or outsiders near the campus.
