Sen. Robin Padilla No Show in Senate Sessions for 3 Days
ROBIN PADILLA – The Senator shared on social media a post about betrayal amid the ongoing conflict in the Senate.
All eyes are currently on the Senate after the majority and the minority blocs firmly stand on opposing sides. A switch in the chamber recently took place after two (2) cancelled Senate sessions.

On Monday, the majority senators did not attend the Session after some of them accompanied Sen. Jinggoy Estrada. He is faced with graft and plunder charges over a supposed multi-million flood control corruption.
The Sandiganbayan released an arrest warrant against Estrada. He and some of the then-majority senators were emotional when he voluntarily turned himself to the authorities.

The majority senators were still no show in the Senate session on Tuesday. The then-minority bloc called for the resignation of former Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano. According to Sen. Raffy Tulfo, everyone in the majority bloc is welcome to join them except for then-Senate Pres. Alan Peter Cayetano.

On Wednesday, Sen. Chiz Escudero attended the Senate session which brought the senators a quorum of 12. They declared all the Senate positions vacant and elected Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian as Senate President Pro Tempore.
The quorum of 12 did not sit well with the now-minority bloc. Amid the issues in the Senate, Sen. Robin Padilla shared on social media a post about betrayal.

Sen. Robin Padilla did not name names in his post. The Senator is faced with a complaint of obstruction of justice over the case of Sen. Bato dela Rosa. He previously confirmed that he was the one with Dela Rosa when the “ICC wanted” Senator exited the Senate premises.

Following his Senate session attendance, Sen. Chiz Escudero explained why he decided to attend the Senate session.
