Female Passenger Expresses Frustration Over Allegedly High Tricycle Fare in Kalibo
A female passenger in Kalibo expressed her disappointment after being asked to pay what she believed was an unreasonably high tricycle fare.
On Monday, March 24, 2026, the woman rode a tricycle from Roxas Avenue to the Ceres Terminal in Barangay Estancia. According to her child, she was surprised when the driver asked for a much higher amount than expected.
When she raised her concern, the driver explained that fuel prices had increased, which also led to higher fares. Despite the explanation, the passenger felt that the amount being asked was too much.

Rather than continue the disagreement, she decided to get off the tricycle and look for another ride. She later boarded a different tricycle, where she shared her frustration about the incident.
The second driver reportedly did not agree with the behavior of the first driver. He expressed concern that such actions could damage the reputation of tricycle drivers in their area. He also mentioned that there have been similar complaints before and suspected that the same driver might be involved.
The passenger was able to take a photo of the tricycle and later shared it on social media to raise awareness.

The post quickly gained attention online, with many people sharing their own experiences and calling for fair and honest fare practices.
The woman also pointed out that many people are affected by rising costs, and that fairness should always be observed when charging passengers. The incident raises discussions about proper fare regulation and the importance of respect between drivers and commuters.
