Kaye Abad shared an update about her health
Actress Kaye Abad revealed that she recently suffered from a viral illness called Herpangina.
Kaye has been in the entertainment industry for many years already. Even though she is no longer active in doing acting projects, just like during her prime years in showbiz, she is still active on social media.
At times, she would share glimpses of her life in Cebu with her husband, Paul Jake Castillo, and their children.

In a recent social media post, the actress shared an update about her recent health struggle, based on the article in Newsko. Kaye Abad revealed that she has been isolated for three days already, so that her loved ones will not get infected as well.
The Boston Children’s Hospital described Herpangina as an “illness caused by a virus, characterized by small blister-like bumps or ulcers that appear in the mouth, usually in the back of the throat or the roof of the mouth.”
“I’ve been isolating myself for three days now. I think I got sa airport or sa plane. I felt sick, Sunday night,” the actress shared.
Kaye shared that at first, she had a fever and body pain. Initially, she thought that she had dengue or hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD).
However, when the blister-like bumps inside her mouth appeared, that was the time she decided to consult the doctor.

“When I showed the doctor the picture, especially my throat and the positions of the mouth sores, he said it’s herpangina. Ngayon ko lang narinig ‘yon. I googled it, and it’s [in] the same family as hand, foot, and mouth disease, except herpangina is walang rashes sa hands and sa feet,” Kaye said.
She also said that her sores are on her cheeks, tough, and not in her throat. On the fifth day of having this condition, the actress said that it was the most difficult part because of how painful the blisters were.
Because of this, her food intake was limited. Kaye just had oatmeal and juice. “Good thing na wala akong sores sa throat, I can still drink water. Cold water helps kasi medyo nawawala ‘yong stingy feeling,” she said.
Kaye Abad was also thankful that she was still able to drink water while recovering.
