Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s Running Mate Recruited in 2025
SARA DUTERTE’S RUNNING MATE – The Vice President admitted that the person she has recruited is still undecided.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has already announced her presidential bid in 2028. The declaration came amid the issues between her and Pres. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. It sparked different reactions and opinions from the Filipino people.
According to Vice Pres. Duterte, she has realized that her life is not hers to live alone. She admitted that she has long questioned the weight of the obligations of a president. However, she allegedly saw the unfaithfulness of Marcos Jr. with regards to his campaign promises.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos was Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s running mate in the 2022 Elections. They combined a huge force of supporters that led their tandem to victory. However, in 2024, their ties had a falling out.
The Filipino people started noticing the souring relationship between Marcos Jr. and Duterte after the latter resigned from being the secretary of the Department of Education and also left the Marcos Jr. Cabinet. The rift was triggered by the arrest and the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.
Vice Pres. Duterte previously claimed that former Pres. Duterte has already given his blessings for her to run for the presidency. When he was arrested, the former Chief Executive claimed that the turn of events could allegedly lead to the presidency of his daughter.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte revealed that she has already recruited someone to be her running mate in the 2028 Elections. However, the identity of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s running mate was yet to be revealed as he/she has yet to decide.
“Hindi pa siya nakapag-decision. So kailangan natin siya protektahan. Dahil baka siya na naman ‘yung aatakihin at sisirain ang pangalan. So let’s protect… his or her privacy para sila ay makapagdesisyon,” the Vice President said.
Furthermore, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte also claimed that there is currently no political party or any political group which has reached out to her for alliance. The revelation about Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s running mate dragged several names into the matter.
Opposition Sen. Bam Aquino was rumored to be Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s running mate in the 2028 Elections. He immediately reacted to the rumors that left the Kakampink and the opposition’s supporters puzzled.
