Sen. Robin Padilla Claims Having No Plans to Run for Vice President in 2028
ROBIN PADILLA – The minority Senator apologized to political analyst Ronald Llamas amid their word war following his remarks about the vice presidential race in 2028.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently confirmed that she is running for president in the 2028 Elections. According to the Vice President, she came to reflect that her life is not for hers alone. Her declaration for the next national elections which is still 2 years away from now earned different reactions.

Duterte-known ally Sen. Robin Padilla immediately reiterated that he will support Duterte for president and Sen. Imee Marcos for vice president. The presidential Sister did not confirm if she’s running for vice president in 2028 but stressed that she has always followed what the Vice President tells her.
Sen. Imee Marcos aligned herself with the Dutertes amid the political turmoil in the Philippine government. Padilla has actually started campaigning for the Sara-Imee tandem during a previous event in Malaysia in 2025.

Amid the different opinions thrown at the declaration of the Vice President, Sen. Robin Padilla claimed that he is open to be the running mate of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte in 2028. According to the minority Senator, even if he does not like politics, he is ready to run for vice president if former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte will order him to do so.

“‘Yung gusto mo manging vice president hindi dahil nais mo maglingkod, pero uutusan ka ng preso sa ICC,” Llamas said.

Sen. Robin Padilla reacted to the remarks of Ronald Llamas. Addressing the political analyst, he stressed that he has no plan to run for vice president. According to him, he is not like the allies of the political analyst who are allegedly very eager to run for the election so they follow all his advice.
“Hindi raw siya open tumakbong VP. So, guni-guni lang ng lahat ang interview niya? Misunderstood na naman? Gigil na gigil daw ang oposisyon sa puwesto. Eh, ano tawag niya kay Sara na maaga at natatanging nagdeklara maging pangulo? Shy type?” the political analyst responded.
Amid their word war, Sen. Robin Padilla apologized to Ronald Llamas. According to News5, the Senator also expressed his apology to Allah and his Muslim brothers and sisters for getting lost from the spirit of Ramadan.
“Nais ko lang po iparating sa inyo sa mahusay na pananalita at liham na wala po akong balak na kumandidato na bise presidente. Kahit po ako’t ex-convict, meron naman po akong delicadeza,” Padilla said based on the post.
Previously, Sen. Robin Padilla also reacted to the “tuta ni Duterte” tag to him.
