Pres. Bongbong Marcos Visits Naga, Meets Mayor Leni Robredo
BONGBONG MARCOS – The President denied talking about politics with former Vice President and Naga Mayor Leni Robredo during his visit to her city.
Despite their political differences and the strong election rivalry in 2022, Marcos Jr. and Robredo recently met in Naga City for the Oplan Kontra Baha. The Naga Mayor waited for the arrival of the President at the Sagop Creek in Naga City today.

Aside from Naga Mayor Leni Robredo, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) chief Vince Dizon also waited for Pres. Bongbong Marcos. They inspected the creek following the strong and heavy rains that usually hit the city.
Countless Filipinos were left settled by the meeting of Pres. Bongbong Marcos and former Vice President and now Naga Mayor Leni Robredo. A lot of Filipinos commended how they set aside their differences to work. However, their meeting has still become a subject of speculations and rumors.

There are rumors that Marcos Jr. is allegedly courting Robredo for an alliance in the 2028 Elections. The talks came as his visit to Naga City is only shortly after Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announced that she is running for president in 2028.
After they inspected the Sagop Creek, Pres. Bongbong Marcos answered to some questions of the members of the press while Naga Mayor Leni Robredo was standing beside him. According to Inquirer, the President denied that they talked about politics.
“Serbisyo muna bago politika. The most political thing that we did today, I wore my pink socks. My pink socks in honor of Mayor Leni,” the President said.

The President and the Naga City Mayor were laughing when he showed off his pink socks. He was asked if his visit is a response to Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s declaration that she will run for the presidency in 2028.
“We have been planning this for months already because talagang naging critical ito eh especially with the storms that came in… We know that Bicol is always the pathway of the storms but the immediately problem that we saw… is yung bigat ng bagsak ng ulan, dati hindi naman ganun karami. You’ve got 700 in one day, 700 centimeters,” Marcos Jr. said.
Naga Mayor Leni Robredo supported the statement of Pres. Bongbong Marcos saying that 700 centimeters in one day is over the rain brought by typhoons Ondoy and Yolanda. Based on the post, he stressed that they did not discuss politics as they would serve first.
Prior to the visit of the President and amid the speculations, Naga Mayor Leni Robredo assured that there will be “no politics” in her meeting with Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
