Pinky Amador and Pokwang received a comment from Darryl Yap
Director Darryl Yap slammed seasoned actress Pinky Amador and comedienne Pokwang for attending the party of President Bongbong Marcos.
Pinky and Pokwang were known as among the celebrity supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo, the opponent of PBBM in the 2022 presidential elections.
They actively campaigned for the Leni-Kiko tandem and criticized the other side of the political arena.
Just recently, these two female celebrities received criticism from Direk Darryl Yap. The controversial director shared a post on his Facebook page, his reaction to Pinky Amador and Pokwang’s presence at President Bongbong Marcos’s party.
“Dati akala ko, malakas na ang loob ko, akala ko makapal ang mukha ko—pero nung nakita ko ang pictures nila Pokwang at Pinky Amador sa paparty ni Bongbong Marcos,” direk Darryl wrote, and stressed that he is a shy person after all.
Then, the filmmaker mentioned that one of these female celebrities criticized actress Ella Cruz for being part of his Maid In Malacanang movie, which was about the Marcoses.
To recall, Ella stated that history is like “chismis” as she was asked during an interview about the movie. Pokwang shared a post about this, stating that Ella was so wrong in this statement.
Then, the director pointed out that there was nothing wrong with a person changing his or her mind about something. For him, the wrong thing was the hurtful words directed at someone during the campaign period, and this could not be retracted anymore.
“Walang masama kung nagbago na ang kanilang paniniwala, or baka wala silang hapunan ng gabing iyon. Ang masama ay yung sakit ng salita, panlilibak at panghuhusga nila sa kapwa nung panahon ng kampanya, hindi na mababawi iyon,” Direk Darryl stressed.
Then, he said that, with this, he has more respect for seasoned actress Cherry Pie Picache. To recall, back in 2023, an issue surfaced between Direk Darryl, Cherry Pie, and veteran director Joel Lamangan.
At that time, Cherry Pie starred in the movie Oras de Peligro, directed by Direk Joel. Direk Darryl stressed that he was not competing with this movie since he was promoting the MiM sequel, Martyr and Murderer.
