Here’s what Yeng Constantino did that made Angeline Quinto feel hurt.
In an interview, Angeline Quinto revealed that she was hurt when her friend, Yeng Constantino, did this to her.
Kapamilya singer-actress Angeline Quinto and her long-time non-showbiz partner, Nonrev Daquina, tied the knot in April 2024. Both devotees of the Black Nazarene chose the historic Quiapo Church in Manila as the venue of their Filipino-themed wedding ceremony.
Angeline and Nonrev’s wedding had a star-studded entourage and guest list. Among those were Vice Ganda (man of honor), Sarah Geronimo (flower girl) and Matteo Guidicelli, Erik Santos (ring bearer), Ogie Alcasid, and principal sponsors Charo Santos-Concio, Regine Velasquez, Zsa Zsa Padilla, Martin Nievera, Boy Abunda, Dr. Vicki Belo, and Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna.
In a recent interview with comedian Chad Kinis, Angeline revealed that one of the first people she told about her wedding plans was her close friend, singer Yeng Constantino. According to Angeline, she personally informed Yeng because she wanted her to sing as she walked down the aisle during the bridal march.
However, a month before her big day, Yeng stepped back and informed her that she might not make it to her wedding because of her commitment. With the significant role she was holding at her wedding, she immediately felt upset and disappointed. Looking back, she realized that stress played a major role in her emotions.
“Tapos yun, after mga isang buwan, kung kailan malapit na yung kasal, doon siya nagsabi sa akin na hindi siya pwede kasi meron siyang commitment. So na-feel bad lang ako. Parang siguro nagsama-sama lang yung pressure kasi ilang linggo na lang malapit na tapos biglang wala ng kakanta,” she shared.
However, instead of dwelling on the setback, she made a comeback that turned out to be something more beautiful than she expected. She found a way to make something more meaningful, such as creating an original song for her wedding together with Jonathan Manalo.
“Kaya kami nakagawa ni sir Jonathan ng original song para sa wedding namin ni Nonrev. Kami nagsulat nu’n. Alam naman ni Yenggay yun kasi parang talaga na ano ako…oo. Mas personal, mas kami ni Sir Jonathan yung sumulat,” she added in the interview.
Despite the misunderstanding, the friendship between Angeline and Yeng ultimately prevailed, and their relationship remains strong and on good terms.
