Cynthia Villar Issues Statement On Recent Altercation Involving Security Personnel

Cynthia Villar explains her side of the viral altercation with the HOA.

The camp of former senator Cynthia Villar explained her side following the viral altercation with her subdivision’s security personnel.

The temper of former senator Cynthia Villar has been on full display again, based on a viral video. She confronted the village security personnel, who were implementing a new traffic scheme in BF Resort Village, Las Piñas. It triggered tension, as she was seen berating security personnel who installed the bollards and managing traffic flow as part of a rush-hour traffic dry run.

Villar and the security personnel’s confrontation went viral online, and the former senator’s temper is nothing new. This is not the first time that she has berated personnel, as she has a legendary temper.

“Ide-demanda ko kayo!” Villar was heard shouting while approaching the guards, who calmly responded, “Kalsada ’yan, ma’am.”

“Anong kalsada? Harap ng bahay ko ’yan lahat. Bakit ’yung iba hindi mo nilalagyan?” she was also heard saying, and singling out a security, she expressed, “Ikaw lang ang tanga. Ako hindi tanga!”

In a statement, the camp of the former senator released a statement and explained that her subdivision’s homeowners association illegally installed a “No U-Turn” sign and bollards in front of her property without prior notice or proper authorization. She requested clarification, but “instead of a constructive dialogue, some individuals decided to trespass on F/Sen. Villar’s property, provoked and escalated the situation, took videos, and circulated these edited and malicious videos on various digital platforms.”

Villar’s office also pointed out that the involved homeowners association board has already been declared illegal by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development, Human Settlement Adjudication Commission, as well as the Court of Appeals.

“We emphasize that residents have the right to be informed and consulted on matters that directly affect access, traffic flow, safety, and daily mobility within the community,” Villar’s camp added in the statement.

They also expressed their appeal for due process, transparency, and respect for lawful procedures to avoid such incidents from happening in the future.
