Estrella “Inday” Barretto, the mother of actresses Claudine Barretto, Marjorie Barretto, and Gretchen Barretto, has passed away at 89. This was confirmed by Joaquin Barretto in a Facebook post, and many people immediately reached out to express their condolences.
Mommy Inday’s death brought sadness to many, as despite not being a celebrity, she is famous because of her daughters.
Further details regarding Inday’s death, including the cause of her passing, have yet to be disclosed by the family as of this writing. She was 89. Her last public appearance was during an interview with entertainment insider Ogie Diaz in October last year.
On Instagram, Claudine shared her thoughts, and in one of her posts, she wrote, “We’re gonna be okay, I promise.”
She also shared some clips of their final moments together, as she assured her that they would be fine when she passes. She is seen talking to her mother and holding her hand while the Barretto matriarch lies in a hospital bed. At one point, Inday appeared to respond as Claudine broke down in tears.
To recall, in 2024, it was revealed that Mommy Inday has lupus. Based on Joaquin’s post, he shared over the past few days that her condition had been worsening and that she was transferred to the ICU.
Inday’s death comes nearly seven years after her husband Miguel’s passing in October 2019.
