Rowena Guanzon had this statement about Robin Padilla
Former COMELEC Commissioner Atty. Rowena Guanzon said that Senator Robin Padilla “exudes kindness.”
Guanzon is one of the popular political personalities on social media. Her supporters love how feisty she is when it comes to expressing her thoughts and opinions, especially in calling out some personalities.
To recall, back in 2022, Guanzon made a statement against Padilla. This was during the election period. That was the time when Padilla decided to enter politics as he ran for Senator.
Back then, Robin Padilla received criticism since he had no political background. Almost the entire of his adult life was spent in showbiz. With this, people would comment that he knows nothing about being a public servant.
The actor-turned-politician stressed that he indeed knows nothing about stealing people’s money. Rowena Guanzon shared a social media post of a news outlet regarding the Senator’s statement back then, and her caption was, “Ang kaso, low IQ ka robin Doby!”
However, in September last year, Guanzon shared a plot twist on her Facebook page. It was her photo with Padilla, and in the caption of her post, she admitted that she was doubtful when the actor became the number one senator, but she realized that, indeed, he was charismatic, humble, and a gentleman.
In a recent interview on the YouTube channel of actress and Quezon City councilor Aiko Melendez, the lawyer was asked what she could say about the actor-turned-politician, based on the article in Bandera.
“May courage siya (may will din sabi ni Aiko). Akala ko nga (nu’ng una) artista lang and the fact that he converted to Islam speaks (volume sabi ulit ni Aiko), yeah! He has spirituality. It’s not just religion, he must have some awareness when he was in jail,” Guanzon said.
She also shared that she asked her fellow lawyers if they would vote for Robin Padilla if he ran in 2028, and one of them said, “Ma’am ang guwapo-guwapo kasi.“
Then, Rowena Guanzon said, “Tapos nu’ng nakita ko siya in person, aba’y guwapo nga. But not only that, he exudes kindness.”
