E-Trike Drivers Clash Over Passengers, One Nearly Loses an Eye in Cebu City
Two e-trike drivers got into a fight in Cebu City, leading to biting and physical assault over dispute for passengers.
The intense fight between two e-trike drivers went viral after biting each other. One of the drivers was left injured and nearly lost his eyesight because of the incident.
The victim, a 46-year-old e-bike driver named Roger Idbalinan, had just been discharged from the hospital after suffering injuries to different parts of his body. The incident happened in Inayawan, Cebu City, and started from a simple argument over who would take a passenger. The verbal disagreement quickly escalated into a serious confrontation.
According to Roger, the other driver became angry during the argument. They exchanged threats, and later on, the suspect reportedly called for backup. Roger was then followed and confronted at the e-trike parking area. At that time, his young daughter was riding with him.
The situation gets worse when four men allegedly pulled Roger from his e-bike. As he was being dragged, his daughter was thrown off and the e-bike lost balance before crashing into a nearby store. The impact caused damage to the shop and added to the panic of the situation.
Roger was badly beaten and bitten during the attack. He suffered injuries near his eye and on other parts of his body, putting his eyesight at risk. Witnesses in the area said the fight was shocking and frightening to watch.
One of the suspects, identified as Cyril Paraiso, admitted his involvement in the beating but denied biting Roger. He explained that the fight started because of repeated passenger stealing along their route, which led to anger and threats.
Eventually, the two parties agreed to settle the matter. Paraiso promised to cover Roger’s medical expenses. Authorities are still searching for the three other men who took part in the assault, while reminding drivers to settle disputes peacefully and avoid violence on the road.
