Lady Netizen Shares How Her Child’s Folded P1,000 Bill Was Nearly Rejected

A lady netizen posted about the P1,000 bill her child used for payment, which was almost refused due to having a fold.

Recently, Gina Aulo Diaz Vael, a Facebook user, shared her child’s experience after the P1,000 bill used for payment was nearly not accepted. The post quickly went viral and drew reactions online.

According to her post, her child was paying their electricity bill when the cashier noticed that the P1,000 bill used for payment had a fold. Although the bill was not torn or damaged, it was nearly refused because it did not appear flat.

It caused confusion and worry, as the bill was still valid and in good condition aside from the accidental fold.

To address the situation, the staff asked for her child’s contact number. The explanation given was that if the bank later refused to accept the folded bill, they would contact her child so the money could be replaced.

While the payment was eventually accepted, the experience left the family uneasy and concerned about possible future issues.

Many netizens shared similar experiences. Some said they had also encountered problems when using folded, crumpled, or slightly damaged bills, even if the money was still usable. Others expressed surprise, noting that folded bills are common, especially since cash is often kept in wallets, pockets, or small bags.

Vael emphasized the importance of being careful with paper money. She shared that the experience served as a lesson for their family to avoid folding bills whenever possible to prevent inconvenience during payments.
