Johnvic Remulla was asked about his future political plans
Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Secretary Jonvic Remulla said that there is a possibility that he will run for president in 2028.
Remulla has been in the political arena for many years already. In the past, he held elected positions in Cavite. He is now serving the government with his appointed position as a cabinet secretary of the administration of President Bongbong Marcos.
In 2022, Remulla declared that it is BBM’s destiny to be the president. He continued supporting the chief executive until now.

Davila said that Remulla’s name surfaced as one of the possible presidential candidates of the current administration, pointing out that Cavite has been his bailiwick, and he is now more visible as a DILG Secretary.
During the recent interview on Headstart, the news and current affairs program of veteran journalist Karen Davila, she asked Sec. Jonvic Remulla, if he had plans to run for president in 2028.
Remulla shared that this was not the first time he heard this question, but his answer would always be the same. He cited PBBM’s past statement when asked if he wanted to be president when he was still a governor.

The secretary said that PBBM’s answer was yes and stressed that all governors wanted to be president, and it was a lie if they denied this. Then, Remulla pointed out that this would not apply to him since he is not a governor. However, Davila insisted that Remulla served as a governor in the past.
When asked once again if he plans to run for president in 2028, Remulla answered, “It’s a possibility. No conclusion yet, but it’s a possibility.” Netizens who commented on this had polarizing reactions to the statement from the DILG Secretary.
