In her post, Plotenia shared how painful it was to walk into the wake and see that no relatives came to pay their respects. She described how lonely the moment felt, especially knowing that her father had always hoped for kindness and connection from family.
Despite this, she found comfort in the thought that her father was now at peace and finally free from pain.
Romelyn expressed deep gratitude to the church community who supported them throughout the difficult days. She thanked the priests who never left her father’s side and the people who helped with the arrangements to ensure he was properly cared for.
The lady also appreciated the couple selling vegetables near a convenience store, who helped watch over her father from the hospital until the mortuary, showing genuine concern even though they were not related by blood.
The woman mentioned a sponsor who traveled from Kabankalan just to provide clothes for her father, something that meant a lot to her. What touched her the most was that these people, who were not even relatives, showed more love and concern than those who were expected to be present.
Her father, known in their church community as Tolikoy, was remembered as Alfredo Dela Cruz. His identity within the church showed how much he was valued by people outside their family.
