Duterte’s Former Spox Harry Roque Speaks on Ex-President’s ICC Interim Release Appeal
HARRY ROQUE – The former spokesman of Ex-President Rodrigo Roa Duterte spoke on the upcoming decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) on the interim release plea.
The challenge of the camp of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the ICC over its jurisdiction was junked by the foreign court. Prior to it, the ICC also denied the interim release plea of the former Chief Executive.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed that a “third country” allegedly agreed to host the interim release of her father if the foreign court will grant it. According to her, the former President needs a 24-hour caregiver to take care of him.
The Vice President previously claimed that her father was allegedly found unconscious in the floor of his ICC room and was brought to the hospital but they were supposedly not informed about it. She also supports the call for a house arrest for the former President in Davao.

When the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte was transferred to the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands following his arrest last March 11, Duterte’s former spokesman, Harry Roque, once again appeared in public. He hid for several months since the House of Representatives ordered his arrest.

Harry Roque is being investigated over his alleged role in the illegal operations of the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs in the country. For Duterte’s spokesman, he is allegedly being pressured because of his ties with the Dutertes.
Roque is currently an asylum seeker in The Netherlands. Then, he stressed that there is no longer a need for him to hide as an asylum seeker cannot be deported while the application process is ongoing.

Harry Roque is one of those who call for the ICC interim release plea of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. Previously, he stressed that there is allegedly not much enough time after the former Chief Executive supposedly claimed that he is ready to die.
Recently, Roque spoke on the appeal of the camp of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s camp for his interim release. The ICC is set to decide on the appeal of the former President’s camp on November 28.
“Wala kaming ginawa kundi magdasal nang magdasal,” Roque told One PH for “Sa Totoo Lang”.
Based on a post of News5 on social media, Harry Roque also shared that they held prayer vigils as they seek for the ICC interim release of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. It is a series of prayer brigades that the former President’s supporters are holding.
“Nagkaroon po kami ng prayer vigil noong nakalipas na Sunday, Monday, Tuesday at magkakaroon din kami ng prayer vigil this coming Sunday,” he said.

Based on the post, Harry Roque expressed that they can only hold on to prayers over the ICC interim release plea of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. According to him, the decision is in the hands of the ICC judges now.
“Talagang dasal na lang po ang aming pupuwedeng gawin dahil nakasalalay na po ‘yan sa mga mahistrado ng appeals chamber,” Roque claimed.
Recently, the camp of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte asked the ICC to immediately and unconditionally release him.
