Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte Reacts To Torre Offering to Arrest Bato dela Rosa amid Reported ICC Arrest Warrant
PAOLO DUTERTE – The Davao Congressman slammed former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Nicolas Torre III over his readiness to arrest Senator Bato dela Rosa.
Amid the questions over his claims, Ombudsman Boying Remulla claimed that he allegedly has a “copy” of the supposed ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa. According to him, other agencies have yet to obtain a copy, thus, their claims do not invalidate his.

Sen. Bato dela Rosa always believed that the International Criminal Court allegedly wants to arrest and investigate him over the Duterte drug war. He was the first PNP chief during the term of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who is currently under the custody of the ICC in The Hague, Netherlands.
Amid a reported ICC arrest warrant, Sen. Bato dela Rosa immediately skipped a Senate plenary session then. He also filed a motion before the Supreme Court asking it to compel the Ombudsman to release a copy of the supposed ICC arrest warrant.

Amid the claim of Ombudsman Boying Remulla that an ICC arrest warrant against Sen. Bato dela Rosa was allegedly issued, former PNP chief Nicolas Torre III offered to arrest the Senator if there is an order. He was the one who led the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte to the custody of the foreign court in The Hague.

Recently, Davao Congressman Paolo Duterte slammed former PNP chief Nicolas Torre III following his offer to arrest Sen. Bato dela Rosa amid a reported ICC arrest warrant. Based on his post on social media, the eldest son of former Pres. Rody Duterte claimed that no one allegedly remembers that Torre is a former national police chief.
“Before Mr. Torre fantasizes about ‘arresting’ anybody, he should first arrest the memory gap of the Filipino public — because almost no one remembers he was PNP Chief. And how could they? His term was so short, it can be measured in hours rather than achievements,” the Davao Congressman said.
Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte also slammed the short stint of former PNP chief Nicolas Torre III. According to him, the only thing shorter than the stint of Torre as PNP chief was allegedly the patience of the officers in the national police along with their supposed wonder how he got into the top post.
“Torre’s stint was not a leadership term — it was an intermission, a placeholder, a bookmark in a chapter that nobody read,” Duterte said.

Davao Cong. Paolo Duterte also compared former PNP chief Nicolas Torre III with Sen. Bato dela Rosa. Based on the post, he told Torre to check the “scoreboard” if he thinks that threatening Dela Rosa will put him in a higher status.
“Bato actually served, fought, and bled for this country. Torre barely had time to find the comfort room in Camp Crame before being replaced,” he said.
The former PNP Chief has yet to issue a statement on the remarks of the Davao Congressman. Recently, the Supreme Court released its decision on the motion filed by Sen. Bato dela Rosa requesting the court to compel the Ombudsman to release the ICC arrest warrant.
