Student Volunteers Earn Praises for Bringing Relief Assistance to Typhoon Tino Victims
Several student volunteers earn praises online for bringing relief assistance to the victims of Super Typhoon Tino.
A group of students from STI West Negros University recently extended help to the residents of Moises Padilla who were affected by Typhoon Tino. Their simple act of kindness brought comfort to families who were still recovering from the heavy floods and damage caused by the storm.
Facebook user Donna Marie Alimpolo, recognized as one of the Top Outstanding Student Leaders of the Philippines, shared that they prepared and distributed relief goods to communities in need.

Many residents were struggling to find clean water and food after the typhoon, so the students focused on providing these essentials. For them, it was important to reach people who were having a hard time getting support.
Alimpolo shared that it was heartbreaking to listen to the stories of the residents. Many told them about their frightening experience during the flood, how quickly the waters rose, and how they tried to keep their families safe.
Residents of one remote sitio were especially thankful. The area was difficult to reach, and many relief teams were unable to enter because of the rough path. The students made the effort to go there, knowing that the people had been waiting for assistance.

Their visit brought hope and relief to the families who had felt unseen during the disaster.
Donna also mentioned that almost everyone in the area had been affected by the flood. Homes were damaged, and daily routines were disrupted. Still, many residents expressed their gratitude that their families remained safe despite the hardships.
The students showed how compassion and teamwork can make a real difference through their effort.
