Robin Padilla will continue doing showbiz projects
Senator Robin Padilla shared in a recent interview that he has an upcoming acting project.
Robin was one of the ’90s action stars who did a lot of action-packed movies. These past few years, Robin took a break from acting. It is because of his decision to enter politics.
He entered the political arena in 2022 and became the first Senator at that time. The actor-turned-politician focused on his job as a lawmaker.
Despite being busy as a Senator, Robin Padilla said during the interview on Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda that he is not turning his back on showbiz.
“Hindi po. Katunayan po, katatapos ko lang nu’ng Bad Boy 3. 11 years in the making, 2014 po kami nag-umpisa ng filming, nahinto lang nu’ng pumasok ako sa politika,” the lawmaker said to King of Talk Boy Abunda.
He also said that he became busy as a senator, and he was not able to continue the projects he had started. However, Viva Films CEO Vic del Rosario asked him to work on the project again, and he did.
“E nu’ng last year, nagsalita na si Boss Vic, ‘Mukha yatang ‘yung advance ko sa ‘yo e wala nang nangyari.’ Naningil, kaya po tinuloy ko,” he shared. Robin said that the movie was already in its post-production. Based on Boss Vic’s statement, this movie is set to be shown in December.
During the interview, Robin Padilla was with his wife, Mariel Padilla, who also took a break in the entertainment industry. Mariel was also asked if she will be returning to showbiz.
“Honestly, right now, ang sagot ko, nagti-TV lang po ako tuwing birthday ni Tito Boy,” she said. It is because Mariel is thinking about his two daughters who really need his attention right now.
After a long time, this guesting on the Kapuso show marked Robin’s return to GMA Network. He admitted that he had a lot of memories in the Kapuso network.
“’Yung hagdan dito, Tito Boy, tinatakbo ko ‘yan, mula sa baba hanggang sa taas, ‘yun ang naging ensayo ko. Dito ako sa GMA nag-e-ensayo. Ginawa ko ‘yung Joaquin Bordado, kasi kailangan kong magpapayat. Nu’ng ginawa ko naman ‘yung Totoy Bato, kailangan ko naman magpalaki,” he shared.
Robin Padilla also said that his years in GMA Network were really memorable.
