Sen. Imee Marcos Reacts to DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla’s Ombudsman Appointment
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator gave a message for her brother, President Bongbong Marcos, over the appointment of Department of Justice Secretary Boying Remulla as Ombudsman.
The appointment of DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla as Ombudsman by Marcos Jr. elicited different reactions from the Filipino people and their fellow government officials. Remulla was one of the 7 applicants for Ombudsman out of the 17 individuals who applied for the post who made it to the shortlist.

The Judiciary and Bar Council or JBC submitted the shortlist for Ombudsman applicants to Pres. Bongbong Marcos. The President is the one who picks who will be the next Ombudsman. It was in July when former Ombudsman Samuel Martires retired.
Previously, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos claimed that she will block Remulla from getting the Ombudsman post for the Duterte family. According to her, the position may be allegedly used to persecute the Vice President and the other members of the Duterte family.

Sen. Imee Marcos filed a complaint before the Ombudsman against five (5) government officials including DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla. The complaint was over the arrest and the transfer of the custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte to the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands.

Recently, Sen. Imee Marcos gave a message for her brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos, over the appointment of DOJ Sec. Boying Remulla as Ombudsman. Based on a report on GMA News, the presidential Sister asked her brother if he is really sure about appointing Remulla to be the chief graft buster.
“Bonget, si Boying talaga? Sure ka? Ok ka pa ba? Nakaraang taon ko pa sinasabi, palpak ang plan A na People’s Initiative, palpak ang plan B na impeachment, plan C itong sa Ombudsman,” the Senator said.

According to Sen. Imee Marcos, now, she is only thinking about the safety of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s life. Based on the report, the Senator stressed that what the country needs is the “People’s Ombudsman”.
“Sa ngayon, ang iniisip ko na lamang ay kaligtasan ng buhay ni VP Sara. Palagay ko ang kailangan natin ay People’s Ombudsman, ‘yung kapanipaniwala, katiwa-tiwala at hindi kasapakat ng kung sino,” she expressed.

Previously, following the reports about Remulla’s inclusion to the shortlist for Ombudsman applicants, Sen. Imee Marcos expressed her belief that there’s a plan to send Vice Pres. Sara Duterte to jail.
