In a recent interview on the Kapuso afternoon talk show Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, Frankie Pangilinan was asked if she has plans to be a politician.

The King of Talk, based on the article in Balita, recalled the time when Frankie was studying at the University of the Philippines; she served as a chairperson of the UP Diliman Student Council.

And you’re starting to sound, you know, like a student leader early on your Twitter. Sabi ko, si Kakie parang leaning towards [politics]. Wala ka talagang balak?” the veteran TV host said.

Frankie would use her Twitter, now called X, account to express her views and opinions about certain issues in politics and politicians. “No po. And I think that’s why I think honestly this part. ‘Cause I understood suddenly na gano’n pala ang mga tao, actually,” she said.

She also said that people tend to think that if a person is politically involved, then he or she is planning to run for a position in the government. Frankie stressed that she was never that kind of person.

The daughter of Sharon and Kiko also said that she never intended to get people’s attention in terms of wanting to be a politician. She pointed out that airing her opinions online came from the fact that she is also a citizen of the Philippines, who just wanted improvement in the country and for the betterment of Filipinos.

Frankie also shared that even though she is the daughter of Sen. Kiko, she would still argue with her father about certain political issues. “Kami po ni Dad, most often we’re the ones who argue at home, which is why I think tuwing dine-defend ko po daddy ko, hindi po siya blind defense, loyalty, whatever,” she shared.
