A court ordered the arrest of Cristy Fermin, but she has already filed bail.
TV host Cristy Fermin has posted bail in a libel case filed by Bea Alonzo, after a Quezon City court had ordered her arrest.
Kapuso actress Bea Alonzo filed a cyber libel complaint against Cristy Fermin, fellow showbiz reporter Ogie Diaz, as well as the co-hosts of their respective online programs. For the first time in her over two-decade career as an actress, she made a legal move to silence those who spread false narratives about her.

At that time, she had just broken off her engagement with Dominic Roque, and in her affidavit, she claimed that she was a victim of the “false, malicious, and damaging information.”
In an update, the Quezon City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 93 issued an arrest warrant against veteran showbiz columnist Cristy Fermin. This also includes her co-hosts Rommel Villamor and Wendell Alvarez.
The court set bail at PHP 48,000.00 each for the three respondents. Fermin reacted to this, and in the text message sent to GMA News Online, her reply was: “Inaasikaso na namin. Naku, ganun talaga! Kakambal ng trabaho natin ang ganitong kaso. Ilalaban natin ito.”
She vowed to fight in court, and recently, she showed documents to prove that she has filed a bail for the case filed by Alonzo based on her video. According to her, news outlets and social media were the first to know about their arrest warrant. As per the document, the warrant of arrest was issued on July 21, and they only got a hold of it on July 30. There was also no resolution provided.
Previously, Megastar Sharon Cuneta and Senator Kiko Pangilinan settled the cyberlibel case filed against Fermin. They came up with an out-of-court settlement, and both parties have found peace and renewed friendship.
