Following Marcos SONA 2025, PNP Chief Torre Overly-Satisfied by President’s Message
PNP CHIEF TORRE – Philippine National Police chief Nicolas Torre III was asked about the State of the Nation Address or SONA 2025 of Pres. Bongbong Marcos.
The Marcos 2025 SONA gathered most of the senators, members of the House of Representatives, and members of the Marcos Cabinet at the Batasang Pambansa last Monday, July 28. Pres. Bongbong Marcos delivered a speech that contained the accomplishments of the government in his first three (3) years in service.

According to Pres. Marcos, the government achieved an increase in the production of several agricultural products including corn and bananas. He also stressed the presence of affordable rice in the country now.
The President who campaigned in 2022 with the promise of pulling the rice costs to P20 per kilo stressed that the government was able to show that the affordable rice is possible without putting the farmers on a losing end. According to him, the government will construct rice processing in the last three (3) years of his term.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos also assured the Filipinos that education remains at the center of the priorities of his administration. According to him, the laptops for the public school teachers have already arrived and the public can expect the construction of more classrooms in the last three (3) years of his term.

During the 4th SONA of the President, Marcos Jr. drew laughter and smiles from the audience when he mentioned PNP chief Nicolas Torre III as the “new boxing champion”. The head of the Philippine National Police recently won a charity boxing match against acting Davao Mayor Baste Duterte as the latter did not arrive.

Torre was declared “winner by default”. The charity boxing match reportedly gathered more than P20 million in cash and goods for the victims of the typhoon and flood. Countless Filipinos were affected by typhoons Crising, Dante, and Emong as well as the wrath of the Southwest Monsoon.
Recently, PNP Chief Torre was asked about the Marcos SONA 2025. The head of the national police was also asked to rate the SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos with 5 as the highest.
PNP Chief Torre did not hide that he’s overly-satisfied with the 4th SONA of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. He gave it 5.5 stars which is pass the highest rating of 5 stars. He also claimed that he liked that the President mentioned about the fight against corruption in the government.
“Ako gustong-gusto ko yon, sapagkat talagang dapat maramdaman ng taong bayan na may managot don sa mga nangyaring pagbaha,” the PNP expressed.
When asked about the President mentioning him during the SONA 2025, PNP Chief Torre admitted that he was caught by surprise. Even the Chief Executive noticed that the head of the national police was surprised.
Marcos Jr. lauded the 5-minute police response of the PNP under the lead of Torre. Prior to the SONA 2025, based on a report on Inquirer, the OCTA Research survey result showed that both the trust and performance ratings of the President have increased. From 60%, PBBM’s trust rating rose to 64% while his performance rating increased from 59% to 62%.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos was praised for delivering the SONA 2025 using the Filipino language.
