PAGASA Says Habagat to Affect PH Weather Condition
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that the southwest monsoon will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Monday (July 21, 2025), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The southwest monsoon will affect the country’s weather conditions.
PAGASA weather specialist Daniel James Villamil reported that the southwest monsoon is expected to continue bringing rain to most parts of the country. A newly formed low-pressure area will not directly affect the country.

The southwest monsoon will bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Oriental Mindoro. Monsoon rains are also forecast in Zambales, Bataan, and Occidental Mindoro.
Habagat will also bring cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Visayas, the rest of Luzon, Zamboanga Peninsula, and Northern Mindanao.
Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Mindanao.

A low-pressure area was spotted 1,140 km east of Southeastern Luzon.
“It formed on the eastern boundary of our PAR (Philippine Area of Responsibility),” Villamil said.
Meanwhile, Severe Tropical Storm Crising was last spotted 1,160 km west of Extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of 130 kph.
“It will remain far from the country, and we don’t expect any direct effect for now, The continuous prevailing southwest monsoon will be more of a concern in the coming days,” he added.
The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
The coastal water conditions over Luzon will be moderate to rough. Visayas and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA.
