A diversionary tactic? Senator Bato Dela Rosa accuses the first lady.
The Palace claps back after Senator Bato Dela Rosa accused First Lady Liza Marcos of using him to divert the people from her issue.
A police report on the death of Rustan’s executive, Paolo Tantoco, in Los Angeles, US, was altered to make it look like the First Lady Liza Marcos was involved in the death. This allegation about the first lady tied to Tantoco’s death surfaced online, which was immediately clarified and dismissed by the Palace.

“Ang sinasabing police report na nai-post sa Facebook ay isang malaking kasinungalingan,” said Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.
Recently, the Palace fired back at Senator Bato Dela Rosa after he accused the first lady of using his International Criminal Court (ICC) arrest warrant to divert the attention of people from her issue. To recall, Senator Bato may be arrested by Philippine authorities if the ICC issues a warrant and if there is an Interpol notice.
The Palace officer clarified and shared that the possible arrest is not an old issue, and denied that this has been used to take the public’s attention off the issue of the first lady, who was being linked to the death of businessman Paolo Tantoco.
She reiterated that it has already been confirmed by the authorities that the document was altered.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner in the United States revealed that Tantoco passed away due to the effects of an illegal substance. He also has an underlying heart disease, which contributed to his death.
The document reflected that the effects of the illegal substance were the primary cause, and a significant condition noted was “probable atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease.”
