Recently, incoming Sen. Ping Lacson disclosed that he has scrutinized the 2025 National Budget. Based on a report on Inquirer, the returning lawmaker claimed that the Philippine government has allegedly allotted multi-billion funds for “a very small barangay” and “a small town”.

According to Lacson, the government allegedly allotted P1.9 billion budget for “a very small barangay in a small town” and P10 billion for another small town. He stressed that the town only has 10,000 residents.

“Imagine a P10-billion appropriation for a small town with 10,000 residents. It is an inequitable distribution of the budget,” the returning lawmaker said.

Based on the report, incoming Sen. Ping Lacson claimed that he will seek clarification on the budget allotment of the said small barangay and small town. He stressed that the town is allegedly near a riverbank.

“What happened to the P10 billion appropriated to the small town? We saw that it is near a riverbank, but is it the only town with a riverbank? These appropriations are for flood control,” Lacson said.

Previously, incoming Sen. Ping Lacson also revealed that he will propose the banning of minors from using social media.
