Veteran talent manager and showbiz writer Lolit Solis died at the age of 78, and here’s her cause of death.
Lolit spent several decades in showbiz as a showbiz writer, a talk show host, and a talent manager. As a host, she became part of the showbiz talk show StarTalk from 1995 to 2015. She handled the careers of several showbiz personalities like actor-politician Bong Revilla, who shared a heartfelt post after she passed away.
Among the talents she handled were Christopher de Leon, Lorna Tolentino, Bong Revilla, Amy Austria, Sandy Andolong, Lani Mercado, Paolo Contis, Tonton Gutierrez, Gladys Reyes, Alfred Vargas, Glydel Mercado, Pauleen Luna, Benjie Paras, and Direk Chito Roño.
Lolit has been struggling with her illness since 2022. That was the time when she shared that she started undergoing dialysis twice a week, and that she had to do that for the rest of her life.
Just recently, Lolit Solis opened up about her anxiety attack while in the hospital. She would share glimpses of her treatment and health updates on her Instagram page.
Even though she was suffering, she would thank people, especially celebrities, who showed support and love for her. A couple of years after she opened up about her health status, Lolit passed away.
Based on the article in PEP, the veteran showbiz writer’s cause of death was “acute coronary syndrome.” Mayo Clinic described this as “a term that describes a range of conditions related to sudden reduced blood flow to the heart. These conditions include a heart attack and unstable angina, a type of chest pain.“
With reduced blood flow to the heart, not enough oxygen is being distributed to the heart muscles. A heart attack happens when heart tissue cells die or are damaged.

“Our beloved Manay Lolit Solis has peacefully joined her Creator last July 3, 2025. Manay Lolit leaves behind a loving family and many friends who will always cherish her memory. We remember Manay Lolit as a feisty and staunch loyal supporter, manager and friend. We love you our dearest Manay, you will forever be in our hearts. Rest well now in the loving embrace of our Lord.”
