Mayor Vico Sotto had his oath-taking for his third term
Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has this message to those who voted for his opponent in the 2025 elections.
The Mayor is one of the most admired personalities in politics because he broke the traditional way of running a city. He is known for his effective programs that made Pasig a better place to live.
Pasiguenos would attest to the good governance that Mayor Vico has been doing since he started his public service journey.
Mayor Vico Sotto had his oath-taking, and his parents, Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto and veteran actress Coney Reyes, were present, based on the article in Bandera. The public servant thanked his parents for supporting him and the people of Pasig City. During his speech, he also mentioned those who did not support him.
“Pero meron pong mga hindi sumuporta, sumuporta sa iba, kahit na alam nila ang totoo. Meron tayong mga nakita na alam nila yung kandidato nila kung paano yumaman,” the Mayor said.
He pointed out that it is okay if those people do not know what his opponent was doing just to get a contract with the national government.
Mayor Vico even mentioned that his opponent would even boast about the cars they would give to congressmen and partylist representatives.
He said that these people had already heard and seen how much kickback was given to politicians, but they still chose to support the other camp.
He reiterated that there was nothing wrong with this if those people knew nothing about the “kalakaran” but since they knew about this, then, that’s the problem.
Then, Mayor Vico Sotto shared his message with the people who supported the other camp. “Sa mga taong ito, hinihikayat ko po sila mag-isip-isip na po nang maigi. Baka hindi pa huli para sa kanila,” the Mayor said.
Then, he apologized that his message was quite serious, but he pointed out that he needed to say these things for his and the local government’s protection in everything they do.
“May mga bagay po na hindi ko puwede sabihin noong panahon ng pangangampanya kasi baka sabihin political motive. Kapag political season, mahirap magsalita kasi sasabihin, ‘Pulitika lang yan,’” Mayor Vico stressed.
