This is what McCoy De Leon shares about the death of his character in “Batang Quiapo.”

McCoy De Leon officially exits as David in “Batang Quiapo,” and here’s what he shared about his journey that has finally come to an end.

The death of David, the role of McCoy de Leon that the viewers loved to hate in Coco Martin‘s “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” has logged 673,931 peak concurrent viewers. This means that this is the number of viewers who watched on Kapamilya Online Live at the same time.

Dreamscape Entertainment bade farewell to the character of De Leon, whose character was killed by Miguelito Guerrero in the 611th episode of the hit action series. David started as one of the most hated characters in the series, but towards the end of his journey, he was able to redeem himself, and before he passed away, he asked Tanggol for forgiveness.

In an interview with ABS-CBN, the actor spoke about the official end of his journey as David and expressed that he will surely miss doing it. According to the actor who had been in the series ever since its launch over two years ago, it was a great opportunity working with Jake Cuenca, the one portraying the character.

Martin, the series’ director and lead actor, has said before that De Leon’s role was supposed to have just a short stay.

In his two years of working in the series and having been able to act alongside big stars, such as John Estrada, Cherry Pie Picache, Christopher de Leon, and Charo Santos, he has found growth. It was more than just work in the series. For him, it was home, and they were his family.

“Masaya na malungkot, ito ang pinaka-reaksyon ko kasi naging tahanan ko na itong ‘Batang Quiapo’, at gusto ng tao. Ang priority naman namin dito ay ‘yung manonood,” he said.
