Air India Crash: 242 Passengers Aboard The Flight

242 people were aboard the Air India plane when it crashed en route to London.

AIR INDIA CRASH – The flight bound for London crashed, and as of the latest, more than a hundred of its over 240 passengers were killed.

According to the latest report, over 100 people were killed in the fatal crash that involved an Air India plane bound for London with 242 people on board. It crashed minutes after it took off from India’s western city of Ahmedabad on Thursday.

According to authorities, this is one of the worst aviation disasters in the country. It crashed in a residential area near the airport, as it was headed for Gatwick Airport.

The plane was traveling from Ahmedabad, India, to London, England. It reached an altitude of 625 feet (200 feet above the ground) before it descended into a fatal crash into a doctor’s hostel.

More than 100 bodies were found, and most of them were badly charred. They were brought to the local government hospital for autopsy. A senior police officer said, “The building on which it has crashed is a doctors’ hostel… we have cleared almost 70% to 80% of the area and will clear the rest soon.”

After it crashed, the parts of the plane were scattered around the area where the accident happened, and the tail of the plane was stuck on top of the building.

According to the record, 169 Indian nationals, 53 Britons, seven Portuguese nationals, and one Canadian were the passengers of the flight. This is the first fatal crash of a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner.

Last year, on the other hand, several plane crashes from different parts of the world were recorded in just a span of a week. It has concerned a lot of people regarding air travel safety, raising the call for increased safety measures and stringent investigations.
