Man Elicits Reactions After Seen Coming Out of Drainage in Makati City

A man raises requestion after he was seen coming out of a drainage canal along Adelantado Street in Makati City.

Recently, Jefferson Candido, a motorcycle rider, shared a video of a man he spotted coming out of a sewer in Makati City. The post quickly circulated online and elicited reactions from the internet users.

In the video, the man appeared to be wearing old, tattered clothes and was carrying what looked like a piece of metal. He seemed in a hurry and did not respond to any of the rider’s questions before quickly walking away from the area.

“May hinuhukay na bangko ata itong mga ‘to ha,” Candido said.

The incident has sparked concern from the public, especially since this is not the first time something like this has happened in the same area.

A few weeks earlier, a woman emerging from the same drainage system gained attention online. The incident led many to believe that there may be more people living or moving through the underground tunnels in Makati, often referred to on social media as “mole people.”

Authorities have since sealed off the drainage in question to stop anyone from entering or exiting through it. However, the recent sighting has made people wonder if there are still individuals using the underground spaces for shelter or other unknown reasons.

The viral woman known only as “Rose,” who was also seen coming out of the drainage before, received financial assistance amounting to P80,000 from the Department of Social Welfare and Development.

While some praised the support, others expressed concern that such help might unintentionally encourage others to live underground.
