BONGBONG MARCOS – The President spoke on the return of former Negros Oriental Congressman Arnie Teves from Timor Leste to the Philipppines.
Former Negros Oriental 3rd District Representative Arnie Teves was recently arrested in Timor-Leste where he stayed for more than a year. His son, Axl Teves, shared about the happenings involving his father on social media.

The younger Teves claimed that his father was allegedly kidnapped after he was arrested supposedly without any document or warrant of arrest. The former Negros Oriental Congressman was nabbed at his residence in Dili, Timor-Leste.
Teves was arrested by immigration officers in Timor-Leste. The government cited his lack of a valid Visa and a legal authorization to stay in the Southeast Asian nation. Following his arrest, Teves was ordered deported by the Timor-Leste government.

Arnie Teves filed a petition for writ of habeas corpus which challenged his detention and it was granted but his deportation pushed through. Yesterday, the former Negros Oriental Congressman boarded a plane that carried him from Timor-Leste to the Philippines. It was a Philippine Air Force plane.

Recently, Pres. Bongbong Marcos spoke and confirmed the return of former Negros Oriental Cong. Arnie Teves in the Philippines. According to Marcos Jr. who just returned from Kuala Lumpur where he attended the ASEAN meeting, he was first informed by Timor-Leste Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão about the case of Teves.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos credited Timor-Leste Pres. Ramos-Horta and Prime Minister Xanana Gusmão in the deportation of former Negros Oriental Cong. Arnie Teves. According to him, they worked hard to get to the end of the situation.
“Timor-Leste was ready to send Teves back to the Philippines. This would have not happened without the assistance of Pres. Horta and Prime Minister Gusmao of Timor-Leste. They have been working very hard to bring this to conclusion,” the Philippine President said.
Pres. Bongbong Marcos recognized that former Negros Oriental Cong. Arnie Teves is faced with allegations of crimes in the Philippines. Based on the post, he stressed that it is now time for the former Negros Oriental Congressman to face justice.
“As we know, the former Congressman Arnie Teves is facing charges… crimes related to the ambush killing of former Governor Degamo. We would like also to assure all our citizens that such lawlessness will not go unpunished. It is now time for Arnie Teves to face justice,”
The widow of former Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo, Pamplona Mayor Janice Degamo, looks forward to proper legal proceedings following the arrest of Arnie Teves.
