Harry Roque fled from the Philippines amid the investigation over his alleged ties with the illegal Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators or POGOs in Porac, Pampanga. Duterte’s former Spokesman was next seen in The Hague, Netherlands.

Roque appeared in public again during the initial days of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte under the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) in The Hague, Netherlands. He even presented to be part of the ICC legal team of the former Chief Executive.

Sara Duterte, Harry Roque

As allegedly advised by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte, Harry Roque applied for an asylum in The Netherlands. According to him, he allegedly cannot be deported while he is an asylum seeker in The Netherlands.

Amid being away from the country, a local Philippine court has issued an arrest warrant against Roque. However, even the Philippine authorities admitted that it supposedly will not be easy to arrest him.

Ombudsman Boying Remulla

Recently, the Philippine authorities confirmed that they are seeking for an Interpol Red Notice against Harry Roque. Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) spokesman Winston Casio even described it as “an international arrest warrant”. Ombudsman Boying has also warned Roque. Duterte’s former Spox is quick to respond to the issue:

“Ang Red Notice po ay hindi po ‘yan arrest warrant. Wala pong bansa sa buong European Union na nagta-trato ng Red Notice ng Interpol bilang isang arrest warrant. Ito po ay isa lamang request na kung pupwede, provisionally, panandaliang arrestuhin ang isang tao para ma extradite doon sa requesting country… Hindi po ‘yan automatic na ini-enforce,” Roque expressed.

Harry Roque reiterated his supposed innocence from the accusations hurled against him. Through a post on social media, he expressed his gratitude to the Filipinos who are trusting him.

“Malinis po ang konsensya natin… Wala po akong krimen, kahit anong krimen na ginawa sa aking buhay. Maraming salamat po sa inyong tiwala, maraming salamat po sa inyong patuloy na pagtangkilik… I love you Philippines, the only country that I have, the only country that I love,” he said based on the post.

Amid the issues against him, Harry Roque slammed the House of Representatives’ Committee on Justice over Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s impeachment complaints.
