Teenage Boy Lost His Life After Being Run Over by His Father’s Dump Truck
PASIG CITY – A teenage boy lost his life after he was accidentally run over by a dump truck driven by his own father.
On Thursday afternoon (May 22, 2025), a 15-year-old boy dies after being run over by a drump truck driver by his father. The incident happened inside a construction site at the old Pasig City Hall located along Caruncho Avenue in Barangay San Nicolas, Pasig City.
According to the police investigation, the boy had been lying down and sleeping behind the dump truck when his 41-year-old father began to reverse the vehicle, unaware of his son’s presence.
The teen, who was working as a helper for his father, was hit and declared dead on the spot by emergency responders.
The Pasig police quickly responded to the scene and took the truck driver into custody. He is now facing charges of reckless imprudence resulting in homicide.
The Pasig City Government expressed deep sympathy and assured the victim’s family of their full support. Emergency personnel were immediately sent to the location following the incident, and further assistance will be provided to help the grieving family during this difficult time.
“The City Government of Pasig immediately deployed emergency personnel to the site and will provide support to the victim’s family,” Pasig LGU said.
Authorities are now working closely with the Pasig City Hall Construction Consortium (PCHCC) to look into the details of the accident. The local government has also ordered the PCHCC to conduct a mandatory review of all safety procedures in place at the site to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
“A mandatory review of the existing safety measures will be required from the PCHCC to ensure that an incident like this will not happen again,” the LGU added.
As of this writing, the family of the victim has chosen not to speak with the media as they mourn their loss. The investigation into the case is still ongoing to determine all the circumstances surrounding the heartbreaking incident.
