Leni Robredo on Election Results w/ Bam Aquino, Kiko Pangilinan: “Buhay na buhay ang pag-asa”

Former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo Proclaimed Mayor of Naga City

LENI ROBREDO – The former Vice President took to social media a statement over the election results with former senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan.

Since her defeat in the 2022 Presidential Elections, former Vice Pres. Robredo once again had the chance and the time to be with her three (3) daughters and the people of Naga. She returned to her hometown and continued her advocacies in the ground.

Ahead of the filing of candidacy in 2024, the Liberal Party announced that former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo will run for mayor in Naga City. Her late husband, former Department of Interior and Local Government Secretary Jesse Robredo, was mayor of Naga for several years before he became part of the Aquino cabinet.

It is no secret to the public that former VP Leni’s heart has always been close to local governance. Even former Senator Kiko Pangilinan, her running mate in the 2022 Elections, could attest that she prefers to be part of the local government but she answered the call of many people and took the risk to run for president then.

During the election campaign period, former Vice Pres. Robredo campaigned fervently for the Senate comeback of former Senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan. She joined several campaign sorties of Bam and Kiko particularly in Iloilo where the Leni-Kiko tandem had a big win in 2022.

During the campaign in Iloilo, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo said that others have split up while they are still together. Countless Ilonggos rejoiced on the return of Leni, Kiko, and Bam in their city.

Recently, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo was proclaimed as Naga City Mayor. She won a landslide victory against Toots De Quiros Louie Ortega and Ganda Abrazado. The Naga Mayor-elect vowed to strengthen the ways for a good and transparent governance in the city.

On social media, Robredo expressed her gratitude for the overwhelming support of the Nagueños. She got 91.6% of the votes or equivalent to 84,259 votes. She also thanked the people of Naga for supporting the An Bagong Team Naga.

The former Vice President also expressed her happiness over former senators Bam Aquino and Kiko Pangilinan being the Top 2 senators in their city. In her post, she also expressed her gratitude for the ML Partylist winning big in the city.

“We are still in euphoric disbelief of Bam and Kiko’s come-from-behind win. All our sacrifices and gambles paid off!!! Thank you to the Filipino people. Buhay na buhay ang pag asa,” the Naga Mayor-elect stated.

Aside from Pangilinan and Aquino, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo also supported the House bid of former senator Leila de Lima.
