Thief Caught on CCTV Stealing Samgyupsal Stoves Stolen in Taytay, Rizal

Thief Steals Samgyupsal Stoves Stolen in Taytay, Rizal, Returns for “Day 2”

A thief was caught on CCTV stealing small samgyupsal stoves in Barangay San Juan, Taytay, Rizal.

A small samgyupsal place in Taytay, Rizal was shocked after a thief managed to steal several portable butane stoves used for cooking. The entire incident was captured on CCTV, surprising both the owner and her staff.

Owner Anj Cruz-Longakit shared that her staff first noticed something was wrong when they realized some of their cooking grills were missing. At first, they thought the stoves might have just been misplaced inside the shop.

But when Anj checked the CCTV footage on her phone, she discovered the truth. A man had slipped inside during the early hours of December 7 while the staff were busy cleaning and quietly took two stoves.

However, the same man returned the next night. This time, he was no longer wearing a shirt but had the same pair of shorts. He stole another stove as if he had become comfortable with his routine.

Anj couldn’t help but be frustrated, realizing the thief seemed confident enough to come back for what she jokingly called his Day 2 attempt.

Longakit rearranged the shop’s layout so the staff can easily look over all the tables and equipment even while attending to customers. She also encouraged other business owners to stay alert and remind their staff to be vigilant, especially during late hours.

“Sa mga business owner na lumalaban nang patas, magdoble-ingat tayo, lagi nating sabihan ‘yung mga staff natin na maging alisto. Tuloy lang ang buhay,” she said.

The owner also expressed a message for the thief, saying she hopes he enjoys his samgyupsal this holiday season since he made such an effort to steal the stoves for two straight days. She is still planning to file a blotter and report the incident to the police to prevent the suspect from targeting others.

Barangay officials have also increased their security patrols, especially at night, to help protect businesses and keep the community safer.
