Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Speaks on Pres. Bongbong Marcos over FPRRD’s Arrest

SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly committed an impeachable offense over the arrest of her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Vice Pres. Duterte immediately returned to the Philippines after finalizing the team of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte in his legal battle before the International Criminal Court. The former President is faced with an allegation of crimes against humanity before the ICC.

The Vice President stayed in The Hague for three (3) weeks. Upon her return to the country, she immediately met with her lawyers for her impeachment trial.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte’s lawyers are confident to win the impeachment trial. Recently, she made a claim that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly committed an “impeachable offense” over the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte and the transfer of his custody to the ICC.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Vice Pres. Duterte claimed that the transfer of the custody of the former President to a foreign entity will not be implemented without the approval of Pres. Marcos. Former Pres. Duterte was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai on the same day that he was arrested by the Philippine authorities.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte claimed that Pres. Bongbong Marcos allegedly violated the Philippine constitution over former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte’s arrest. Furthermore, based on the report, she also accused Marcos Jr. of allegedly betraying the public.

“Dapat siyang managot kasi that is an impeachable offense. It’s a culpable violation of the constitution and betrayal of public trust because they allowed a foreign jurisdiction to intervene in our national sovereignty,” the Vice President said in a media conference in Kidapawan City, Cotabato.

Previously, Malacañang insisted that Pres. Bongbong Marcos did not commit betrayal over Duterte’s arrest. Based on the report, at the media conference, the daughter of the former President stressed that the Philippines has no responsibility to cooperate with the ICC.

“We already filed our petition to withdraw from the ICC, and walang jurisdiction ang ICC para gumawa ng investigation kay Pres. Duterte o kahit kanino man,” she said.

Reportedly, the lawyers of former Pres. Duterte in his ICC trial have included the “letter” of Pres. Bongbong Marcos to Vice Pres. Duterte in their submission to the court.
