A mom received backlash online after sharing her plan to let other people cover the expenses for her child’s birthday celebration.
Recently, the Facebook account ‘Proyekto’ shared her plan to ask guests to contribute financially to the celebration instead of shouldering the expenses herself. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
In the post, the mom explained that her child’s 13th birthday was coming up, and she wanted to celebrate it at Jollibee. To make it work without spending out of pocket, she planned to ask 13 guests to give “Two Blue Bills,” a term referring to P2,000 each.
The woman explained that this would help cover the cost of the party. She also considered asking for different gift sets or cash gifts as part of the party theme. Her plan included encouraging all of her child’s guests, especially those of the same age, to bring a gift so her child would have something in return from each visitor.
The mother didn’t see anything wrong with the idea and believed it didn’t have to be reserved for milestone birthdays like the 18th. To her, it was just a creative way to give her child a fun party without breaking the bank.
