Birthday Woman Rushed to Hospital Due to Facial Burns After Hydrogen Balloon Catches Fire
BIRTHDAY MISHAP – Birthday woman suffers facial burns after the hydrogen balloon she was holding caught fire.
A hydrogen balloon is a type of balloon filled with hydrogen gas instead of regular air or helium. Hydrogen is much lighter than air, making the balloon float. However, hydrogen is highly flammable, meaning it can easily catch fire or even explode if it comes into contact with a flame or spark.
Because of this danger, helium is often used instead, as it is a non-flammable gas and much safer for balloons.
Recently, Vietnamese woman’s birthday celebration ends up into a tragedy when the hydrogen balloon she was holding suddenly caught fire. She was left with burns on her face and had to be rushed to the hospital.
During her birthday party, the woman was seen holding a small cake with a lit candle in one hand, while a hydrogen-filled balloon was in the other. Just as she was about to blow out the candle, the balloon accidentally touched the flame and ignited in an instant.
The explosion caused first- and second-degree burns on her face, including her eyelid. Thankfully, her vision remained unaffected, but the burns were severe enough to require medical attention.
According to the woman, no one had warned her about the dangers of hydrogen balloons. Unlike regular balloons filled with ordinary air, hydrogen balloons are highly flammable and can easily catch fire if exposed to an open flame.
The victim was completely unaware of the risk, which led to the unfortunate accident.
This incident reminds the public to be cautious when using decorative balloons at parties, especially near candles or any open flame. It’s always best to check what kind of gas is inside the balloon before handling it near fire sources.
Birthday celebrations should be filled with joy, not accidents. Simple precautions can prevent such mishaps and ensure that special moments remain safe and happy for everyone.
