Man Caught on CCTV Stealing from Convenience Store in Rizal
BURGLARY – A man was caught on CCTV breaking into a convenience store in Barangay San Gabriel, Teresa, Rizal.
On early Friday morning (May 3, 2025), a male suspect break into a convenience store and stole several items. The incident happened around dawn and was immediately reported to the police by the store’s duty operator after seeing the break-in live on the security cameras.
According to Rizal Police Provincial Director Col. Felipe Maraggun, the suspect entered through the store’s roof. He used a metal cutter to break the sheets and force his way in. Luckily, the police were already nearby and patrolling the area, which allowed them to respond quickly.

“Pumasok yung isang subject sa bubong sa itaas then binutas niya. Meron siyang panggunting sa metal sheets… naitawag agad siya sa police station and it’s very timely dahil nagpapatrolya yung ating kapulisan,” Maraggun said.
Authorities were able to arrest the suspect, a 29-year-old construction worker, on the same day. He only managed to take two boxes of cigarettes, as he failed to open the store’s vault.
The suspect claimed that another person helped him plan the robbery, but during the actual break-in, he was the only one seen in the footage. Police are now working to find the other person involved.

The arrested suspect is currently being held at the Teresa Custodial Facility and will face robbery charges.
Thanks to the quick action of the store operator and the timely response of the police, the suspect was caught before more damage could be done. This incident shows how important CCTV cameras and community cooperation are in keeping neighborhoods safe.
Authorities continue to remind the public to report any suspicious activity right away, as fast communication with the police can prevent crimes and help catch offenders on the spot. The search for the second suspect is still ongoing.
