Customer Attacked Online Seller During Transaction in Iloilo City
An online seller was assaulted by a customer after delivering an order in Jaro District, Iloilo City.
The suspect, aside from attacking the seller, also took the item without paying for it. The seller, known only as “Jude,” personally brought a hoodie jacket to the buyer, “Yohanes,” at Barangay Tabuc Suba on April 25, 2025.
After checking the item and finding no issues, the buyer suddenly punched Jude.
“Dinu-double check niya ang hoodie kung merong issue o wala tapos bigla niya akong sinuntok sa ulo. Nang natumba ako, finallow-up niya pa ako ng maraming suntok. Hindi ko mabilang dahil nagko-cover ako ng aking ulo,” the victim said.
A video captured the incident, showing Jude falling to the ground as Yohanes continued to chase and attack him. After the assault, Yohanes was seen walking away holding what appeared to be the hoodie.
Another man approached him, and they left the scene together. Jude shared that this was their first transaction and that he did not know the buyer personally. He said that after confirming the hoodie was in good condition, Yohanes unexpectedly hit him on the head.
Jude fell and tried to protect himself as more punches landed. He couldn’t count how many times he was hit because he was covering his head.
The police later went to the suspect’s house in Barangay Tabuc Suba, but he was not there. According to the suspect’s family, he was at work. Since the authorities did not personally see him, they could not enter the property.
“Sabi ng mga kaanak niya, nagtatrabaho. Wala naman kaming magawa kasi hindi naman mapasok ang bahay dahil hindi naman namin siya personal na nakita,” Iloilo Police Station 9 Police Major Eduardo Siacon said.
Jude suffered bruises and a bump on his head. He plans to file charges of slight physical injuries and theft against Yohanes for the attack and for taking the hoodie without paying.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to locate the suspect and bring justice to the victim.
