Duterte’s Partner Honeylet Avanceña Reacts To Senate Probe of Sen. Imee Marcos
Honeylet Avanceña, the common-law wife of former Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, claimed that the probe led by Senator Imee Marcos is allegedly just a gimmick.
Ahead of the birthday of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 28, Honeylet and their daughter, Kitty Duterte, arrived in The Hague, Netherlands to see him. Currently, they are the family members of the former President who remain in The Hague as Vice Pres. Sara Duterte has already returned to the Philippines after the legal team of her father has been finalized.

Former Pres. Duterte is currently detained in the Hague Penitentiary Institution for around a month now. He is faced with an accusation of crimes against humanity for his administration’s war on drugs.
It was last March 11 when Duterte was arrested by the Philippine National Police (PNP) at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport. He just arrived from Hong Kong. On the same day, the former President was flown to The Hague, Netherlands via Dubai for the transfer of his custody to the International Criminal Court.

The ICC welcomed the arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. However, in the Philippines, it has caused a faction as countless Duterte supporters doubt the legality of his arrest. There are also those who called foul over the transfer of the custody of the former President to a foreign entity.

Sen. Imee Marcos is one of those who were left disappointed with the arrest and the transfer of custody of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She opened an investigation in the Senate over the arrest of the former President. She has always identified herself as a friend of the Dutertes.

However, based on a report on PhilStar, Honeylet Avanceña is seemingly not convinced by the actions of Sen. Imee Marcos. According to the common-law wife of former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte, it is allegedly just a gimmick.
“Pa-ekek na lang yon,” Honeylet said.

Based on the report, Honeylet Avanceña said she does not believe Sen. Imee Marcos She stressed that the Senator keeps on asking what happened citing a question if she didn’t see what happened during the arrest of the former President.
“Hindi ako naniniwala doon… Tanong siya na ‘ano ba talaga nangyari’? Hindi ba niya nakita ang nangyari?” Honeylet Avanceña said.
Recently, on the latest Senate hearing, Criminal Investigation and Detection Group or CIDG Chief Nicolas Torre admitted that he did not allow former Pres. Duterte to see VP Sara.
