In an interview with Ogie Diaz, Marjorie Barretto stepped up amid the issues and revealed what Dennis Padilla did to her in the past.
What was supposed to be a wonderful day for Claudia Barretto turned into a big controversy because of Dennis Padilla. Claudia’s wedding to Basti Lorenzo was private and intimate, but was revealed after Padilla aired his sentiments after some things did not go according to his expectations.
Following the buzz, Marjorie breaks her silence in an interview with Ogie Diaz. She stepped up for her children and defended them against their father, who tends to publicize their dispute most of the time.
“Kung nale-left out ka, wala ka kasi sa buhay ng mga anak mo eh. Mas gusto mo pa kasi magpa-interview eh,” she said, saying he only wanted attention and was not interested in building a relationship with their three children.
In the same interview with Diaz, she claimed that in the past, Padilla was abusive towards her physically. It’s public knowledge that Padilla was short-tempered, and for the first time, she spoke about the first time that it happened.
“He was physically abusive to me. He was, Ogie. I have been quiet for 18 years. Dennis, you were physically abusive. He has a very bad temper,” she said.
She narrated that Julia was just a few days old when he slapped her so hard that even years later, she suffered the effects. She even had to undergo surgery to recreate an eardrum because of that slap.
The comedian was accordingly the opposite of what he portrays to the public. She added, based on the interview, “Nakakatawa siya sa tao pero he’s the opposite. Konting bagay lang manununtok na yan or mananampal na yan. My kids saw that.”
For the past 10 years, the children have been estranged from him.
